Someone recently asked me what my favorite energy drink is and I told them I don’t use any. They couldn’t believe it and I couldn’t believe it was so hard to imagine!
Artificial energy boosters may give a quick burst of energy but the crash that follows will necessitate purchasing more energy drinks to get you up again. A cycle will continue unless you break out and find natural ways to boost your energy.
Getting enough rest is a surefire way to keep your energy levels up. If you are struggling with stamina throughout your day- pay attention to the cues your body is giving you and make adjustments to your sleep schedule. You may need to get to bed earlier, adjust the amount of time you’re spending in bed, or adjust your meal timing to get more reliable rest. If you can’t make it through your day without a lot of extra energy supplementation- take a look at your sleep first.
If you’re getting enough rest or you just can’t adjust your sleep schedule to boost your energy, consider how you’re fueling your body and if you need to make any modifications. What kinds of foods are you eating and are they adding benefit to your energy levels? Heavy meals especially carb dense foods will reliably make you sleepy as your body digests so choose foods that are nutrient dense instead. Hydration is a major factor in energy levels and if youre feeling sluggish grab some cold water as a pick me up!
The best way to boost your energy levels is to get moving! Finding the motivation to exercise can be the hardest part of working out but it is guaranteed to leave you feeling more energetic than before. Exercise also improves your sleep so by working out you will get better rest and feel more energized throughout the day.
Energy levels can drop significantly when you are feeling overwhelmed or stressed. Take time out of your day for a mindfulness practice to recenter your thoughts and keep you on track. Allowing yourself time to be mindful will calm your amygdala and reduce your stress levels- naturally boosting your energy and productivity.
Ditch the energy drinks and dive into these natural ways to boost your energy. Sleep, nutritious food, exercise, and practicing mindfulness will sky rocket your energy levels and eliminate the need for artificial energy.
